• Amends Arizona Revised Statutes Section 8-301 regarding commencement of juvenile court proceedings and case assignment.

• Requires that when two or more juveniles are codefendants in a proceeding, all matters concerning those juveniles shall be heard by the same judge whenever practicable.

• Maintains existing procedures for commencing juvenile proceedings: case transfer from another court, filing a petition by the county attorney, or filing a uniform Arizona traffic ticket and complaint form for non-felony offenses.
