Allows defendants in personal injury, wrongful death, or property damage cases to introduce evidence of money or benefits payable to the plaintiff from collateral sources to show costs are subject to reimbursement or indemnification.

Permits plaintiffs to counter collateral source evidence by introducing evidence of amounts paid or contributed to secure benefits, liens against recovery, statutory reimbursement rights, or subrogation rights of benefit providers.

Specifies that collateral source evidence is admissible for considering plaintiff's damages and shall receive such weight as the trier of fact determines appropriate.

Preserves healthcare providers' and collateral source benefit providers' existing rights to pursue liens or reimbursement under state or federal law or contract.

Takes effect December 31, 2012.
