AZ HB2600

Directs the Department of Administration to issue a request for proposals to insurance carriers to provide statewide personal liability insurance for teachers employed by school districts, covering conduct outside their scope of employment not already covered by district insurance.

Requires the Department of Administration to award a contract to the selected insurance carrier by December 31, 2012, with coverage available to teachers beginning January 1, 2013.

Makes the liability insurance an alternative to personal liability insurance provided under Arizona Revised Statutes section 15-502, subsection G.

Appropriates an unspecified amount from the state general fund in fiscal year 2012-2013 to the Department of Administration for the cost of the teacher liability insurance program.
