Amends Arizona Revised Statutes section 23-356 regarding wage claims filed with the department.

Increases the maximum amount for wage claims from $2,500 to $5,000.

Allows employees to file written wage claims with the department for unpaid wages if the claim is filed within one year of accrual.

Department may obtain judgment, execution, garnishment, attachment, or other remedies on behalf of employees to collect unpaid wages.

Became effective April 10, 2012.
