Financial institutions must report suspected financial abuse targeting elders (age 62+) to the Arizona Attorney General if their employees have direct contact with the elder or review the elder's financial documents, records, or transactions.

Reports must be made immediately by telephone to the Attorney General, followed by a written report within five business days.

If the Attorney General lacks jurisdiction over the elder's case, the Attorney General must notify the financial institution, which then must notify local law enforcement by phone immediately and submit a written report within three business days.

Financial institution employees and other persons making reports in good faith have immunity from civil and criminal liability related to the report and any resulting judicial proceedings.
