HB 2724 Summary

• Establishes the energy policy study committee composed of legislators, corporation commission members, governor-appointed representatives from energy, utility, and advocacy sectors, and state agency directors.

• Committee membership includes two House members, two Senate members, and representatives from solar energy, wind energy, energy efficiency, Native American tribes, utilities, cooperatives, and environmental/water/land agencies.

• Committee shall examine all aspects of energy policy including supply, production, transportation, delivery, distribution, demand and prices to develop and recommend state energy policies.

• Committee must submit a report of findings and recommendations to the governor, president of the senate, and speaker of the house on or before September 30, 2014.

• Committee is repealed effective September 30, 2014.
