Amends section 33-1002 of the Arizona Revised Statutes regarding mechanics' liens on owner-occupied dwellings.

Prohibits mechanics' liens against dwellings of owner-occupants unless the lien claimant executed a written contract directly with the owner-occupant.

Voids any provision in an agreement where an owner-occupant waives the protections provided by this section.

Defines "owner-occupant" as a natural person who holds legal or equitable title to the dwelling prior to construction and resides or intends to reside there for at least 30 days within 12 months after completion.

Clarifies that owner-occupant status requires primary residential use and is negated if the person permits exclusive occupancy by non-family members for non-temporary purposes.
