HB 2842 Summary

• Adds the fourth Monday in March as "Cesar Chavez Day" to Arizona's enumerated holidays in Arizona Revised Statutes Section 1-301.

• Renumbers all subsequent holidays in the list to accommodate the new holiday (Mother's Day becomes item 6, Memorial Day becomes item 7, etc.).

• Updates subsection B to include Cesar Chavez Day among the exceptions to the rule that holidays falling on Sunday are observed the following Monday.

• Updates subsection C to reference the new numbering for holidays that fall on Saturday and require Friday observance instead.

• Repeals Section 1-308 of Arizona Revised Statutes.
