AZ HCR2006

Proposes a constitutional amendment to allow private school tuition vouchers for pupils in public schools with average classroom sizes of 35 or more students.

Establishes annual voucher amount of $5,500, adjusted annually by the percentage change in the consumer price index.

Also extends voucher eligibility to pupils with disabilities and pupils who have been in foster care, regardless of classroom size.

Amends Article II, Section 12 and Article IX, Section 10 of the Arizona Constitution to create exceptions to the prohibition on public money for private school tuition.

Directs the Secretary of State to submit the proposition to voters at the next general election.
