AZ SB1096

Amends Section 19-119 of the Arizona Revised Statutes regarding deceptive mailings in elections.

Prohibits individuals or committees from delivering or mailing documents that falsely purport to be from or simulate documents from state, county, city, town, or other political subdivisions in attempts to influence election outcomes.

Establishes civil penalties for violations equal to twice the total cost of the mailing or $500, whichever is greater.

Authorizes the attorney general, county attorney, city or town attorney, or other legal representatives of political subdivisions to assess civil penalties.

Makes a technical correction to clarify that "any" other legal representative may assess penalties.
