AZ SB1130

Amends Arizona Revised Statutes section 13-3102 to expand the definition of "school" to include community colleges under community college district jurisdiction and universities under Arizona Board of Regents jurisdiction.

Extends the prohibition on possessing deadly weapons on school grounds (a class 1 misdemeanor offense) to apply to community college and university campuses, subjecting violators to the same penalties as those who violate weapons prohibitions on K-12 school grounds.

Maintains existing exemptions for law enforcement, military personnel, correctional officers, and other specifically authorized individuals from the weapons possession restrictions on school grounds.

Preserves exceptions for firearms that are unloaded and properly secured in vehicles, firearms used in approved school programs, and firearms carried by individuals with law enforcement officer safety act certifications.
