Beginning in the 2012-2013 school year, the school safety program oversight committee established under section 15-153 must include a requirement in the school safety program guidance manual for a dispute resolution process in service agreements between school districts or charter schools receiving school safety program grants and law enforcement agencies providing services.

The dispute resolution process requirement applies to all service agreements between grant-receiving schools and their law enforcement providers.

This requirement became effective for the 2012-2013 school year and was approved by the Governor on March 29, 2012.
