Department of Economic Security must adopt and implement protocols by December 31, 2012 to ensure compliance with the Indian Child Welfare Act (25 U.S.C. § 1901).

Protocols must address the Department's child welfare services and responsibilities as required by federal Indian Child Welfare Act standards.

Department must consult with a representative from each Arizona Indian tribe that has working knowledge of child welfare issues during protocol development.

Arizona Commission of Indian Affairs must provide the Department with a list of qualified tribal representatives for consultation purposes.
