AZ SB1420

Establishes a driving under the influence (DUI) court program that presiding judges in each county may create in cooperation with the county attorney to prosecute and treat defendants charged with violating section 28-1381.

Requires court and prosecutor agreement for defendant admission before guilty plea or trial, with eligibility restrictions excluding defendants with serious offense convictions, dangerous offense convictions, title 13 chapter 14 convictions, or prior DUI court program participation.

Allows courts to defer proceedings and place eligible convicted defendants on probation with required alcohol or drug abuse treatment and other conditions, with dismissal possible upon successful probation completion.

Permits courts to terminate program participation and enter guilt adjudication if defendants violate probation terms, or to impose sentencing if probation conditions are not fulfilled.

Amends sections 42-6109 and 42-6109.01 to include DUI court admissions and jurisdiction expansion as allowable uses of jail facilities excise tax revenues, alongside existing drug court programs.
