AZ SB1444

Requires the Arizona Department of Education to collect data from all school districts on students who are enrolled and cannot prove citizenship or lawful residence in the United States.

Mandates the Department submit an annual report by December 15 to the Governor, legislature leadership, and appropriations committees summarizing the data on a district-by-district basis.

Requires the annual report to include research on adverse impacts of enrolling students who cannot prove citizenship or lawful residence and detailed cost estimates for educating noncitizen students.

Provides civil liability immunity to the Department of Education, school districts, and their officers, agents, and employees for good faith actions taken to comply with the data collection and reporting requirements.
