Support the designation of Marine Corps Air Station (MCAS) Yuma as the primary site for basing and training Marine Corps F-35 Joint Strike Fighter squadrons.

Recognize MCAS Yuma as a premier Marine Corps training base with mission to provide aviation ranges, support facilities, and services for Marine Corps commands and visiting military forces.

Identify geographic and natural assets of MCAS Yuma as distinguishing factors, including desert southwest location, proximity to Barry M. Goldwater Range and Chocolate Mountain Range, ideal flying weather, and hundreds of miles of restricted airspace.

Note that MCAS Yuma has been selected as a contingent interim F-35 Joint Strike Fighter Pilot Training Center and is under consideration as a primary basing site.

Acknowledge Yuma community support for the MCAS mission through land use planning and recognition of importance to Arizona and the nation.
