AZ HB2132

Directs the auditor general to conduct a special audit examining how the state department of corrections monitors private prison facilities.

Audit must evaluate security, inmate management and control, inmate programs and services, facility safety and sanitation, administration, food service, personnel practices and training, inmate health services, and inmate discipline.

Requires the auditor general to submit the audit report with specific recommendations for improving private prison monitoring by December 31, 2013, to the speaker of the house, senate president, governor, and secretary of state.

Applies to all private prisons operating in Arizona under state law sections 41-1609 or 41-1682.
