AZ HB2218

Creates a new class 6 felony for knowingly exposing others to HIV or sexually transmitted diseases through sexual intercourse, sodomy, blood/organ donation, or sharing needles/syringes with intent to transmit.

Applies only to persons who know they are infected with HIV or a sexually transmitted disease and act with intent to expose another person to the virus or disease.

Defines "sexually transmitted disease" to include Chlamydia, genital herpes, gonorrhea, syphilis, chancroid, granuloma inguinale, lymphogranuloma venereum, and Trichomonas.

Covers three specific methods of exposure: sexual contact, donation of blood or body fluids, and sharing injection equipment.
