Amends Arizona Revised Statutes Section 44-329 to replace references to "the effective date of this chapter" with the specific date "January 1, 2001" for clarity regarding unclaimed property transitional provisions.

Requires initial reports for previously unreported property to include all items that would have been presumed abandoned within the 10-year period before January 1, 2001, as if the unclaimed property chapter had been in effect during that time.

Maintains that the chapter does not relieve holders of duties that arose before January 1, 2001 to report, pay, or deliver property under prior law.

Provides that holders who failed to comply with pre-2001 unclaimed property law remain subject to enforcement and penalties under the prior law, except as specified in Section 44-321, subsection B.
