HB 2429 Summary

• Amends section 45-2112, Arizona Revised Statutes to establish new funding mechanisms for the Arizona Water Protection Fund

• Fund shall consist of monies collected pursuant to section 48-3715.05 and amounts appropriated from the state general fund

• Appropriates from the state general fund to the Arizona Water Protection Fund at the beginning of each fiscal year an amount equal to five million dollars minus amounts deposited in the previous fiscal year from other sources

• State general fund appropriation shall not exceed five million dollars in any fiscal year; excess amounts from other sources shall be credited against future appropriations

• Fund may accept gifts, grants, and donations in addition to amounts from the prescribed funding sources
