AZ HCR2025

Proposes amendment to Arizona Constitution, Article IV, Part 2, Section 6 to remove the arrest privilege currently granted to legislators.

Eliminates the clause exempting members of the legislature from arrest except in cases of treason, felony, and breach of peace.

Retains the provision that legislators shall not be subject to civil process during legislative sessions or for 15 days before sessions begin.

Requires voter approval through the next general election for the constitutional amendment to take effect.

Introduced by Representatives Quezada and Steele with additional support from Representatives Dalessandro and Gallego, and Senator Gallardo.
