AZ HCR2028

Repeals existing sections 36-2901.01 and 36-2901.02 of Arizona Revised Statutes relating to the Arizona Health Care Cost Containment System (AHCCCS).

Enacts a new section 36-2901.01 that defines "eligible person" for AHCCCS purposes as anyone with income not exceeding 100 percent of federal poverty level guidelines as published annually by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.

Establishes that AHCCCS eligibility includes persons meeting resource limits set by the director of AHCCCS administration and other requirements of federal law or the Health Care Financing Administration under Section 1115 of the Social Security Act.

Directs the Secretary of State to submit this measure to voters at the next general election as a ballot proposition under the Arizona Constitution.
