• Changes the felony classification for unlawful discharge of a firearm within municipal limits from a class 6 felony to a class 5 felony.

• Applies to persons who discharge a firearm within or into any municipality limits with criminal negligence.

• Maintains existing exceptions to the offense, including discharge on supervised ranges, lawful wildlife hunting during open season, nuisance wildlife control, and self-defense situations.

• Specifies that section 13-604 applies to this offense unless a dangerous offense is alleged and proven under section 13-704, subsection L.
