AZ HB2025

Creates a new offense making it unlawful for a person responsible for a child under 10 years old to intentionally, knowingly, or recklessly leave the child unattended in a motor vehicle without supervision by someone at least 14 years old.

Applies when either health or safety risks are present, or when the motor vehicle engine is running or the key is in the passenger compartment.

First violation is classified as a class 3 misdemeanor; second or subsequent violations are classified as class 2 misdemeanor.
