Appropriates $100,000 in fiscal year 2013-2014 from the state general fund to the legislature: $50,000 to the Senate and $50,000 to the House of Representatives.

Funds may be used to provide legal representation to current and former legislature members who are subject to subpoenas or requests in civil actions for production of documents related to their legislative status.

Legal representation covers costs and fees that members would otherwise be required to pay personally for document production related to their legislative role.

Appropriation cannot be used for legal representation relating to campaign documents.

The appropriation is exempt from lapsing provisions under Arizona Revised Statutes section 35-190.
