AZ HCR2030

Proposes constitutional amendment to change Arizona legislative terms from two years to four years, beginning with the 53rd legislature in 2017.

Reduces consecutive term limits from four terms to two terms for both state senators and representatives under the new four-year term structure.

Maintains existing two-year term limits and four consecutive term limits through the 52nd legislature (through 2016).

Includes transition provisions for legislators serving during the 2011-2015 period, allowing them an additional consecutive term in 2017 before the new two-term limit applies.

Requires approval by Arizona voters and gubernatorial proclamation to take effect.
