AZ SB1191

Establishes a joint legislative study committee on character education with 8 members including legislators, education officials, and representatives from schools and teachers' organizations.

Directs the committee to develop an approved list of curricula for character education programs in kindergarten through grade 12 that teachers can use as alternatives to third-party vendor programs.

Requires the Department of Education and state board for charter schools to provide staff and support services to the committee.

Committee must submit a report with findings and recommendations to the Governor, Speaker of the House, and President of the Senate on or before January 1, 2015.

The committee automatically repeals on September 30, 2015.
