Independent voters may express their preference for a presidential candidate by selecting the political party ballot of their choice at the election, rather than being restricted to their registration designation.

Presidential preference elections continue to be conducted under the same procedures as primary elections, with all applicable election laws governing registration, qualifications, and election administration.
