HB 2144 - Governor's Office of Film and Media

• Establishes the Governor's Office of Film and Media within the Governor's office to promote film and media production in Arizona and coordinate with state, local, and private sector entities.

• Directs the Governor to appoint a director to lead the office, with compensation determined under existing state law for executive positions.

• Requires the office to submit annual reports to the joint legislative budget committee by December 31 detailing employment of Arizona residents in film/media production, spending and revenue generated, and the number and subject matter of production projects.

• Appropriates $612,500 from the general fund for fiscal year 2015-2016 to fund the office.

• Terminates the office on July 1, 2025, with the statutory authority repealed on January 1, 2026.
