AZ HB2184

Increases the number of lay members on the state board of education from three to four members.

Adds a new board member position for a person who is an owner or administrator of a charter school.

Maintains existing board positions including the superintendent of public instruction, university/college president, community college district president or chancellor, high school district superintendent, classroom teacher, and county school superintendent.

All members except the superintendent of public instruction are appointed by the governor for four-year terms beginning the third Monday in January.
