Adds a new category of aggravated assault (subsection A, paragraph 9, subdivision (d)) for knowingly taking or attempting to exercise control over another person's firearm with intent to cause harm, if the firearm is lawfully possessed.

Exception carved out for peace officers acting in their lawful official duties and for persons justified in using physical force or deadly physical force under chapter 4 of Arizona law.

Classifies this new firearm-related aggravated assault as a class 4 felony.

Maintains existing aggravated assault penalties and definitions for other circumstances including assaults on peace officers, prosecutors, school employees, and health care practitioners.
