AZ HB2527

Amends Arizona Revised Statutes section 13-3118 to prohibit state agencies and political subdivisions from enacting laws, rules, or ordinances relating to possession, transfer, or storage of firearms except as provided in statute.

Adds "transfer" to the list of firearm-related activities that cannot be regulated by local government entities, expanding the scope of the restriction.

Preserves exceptions allowing judicial departments, law enforcement agencies, and prosecutorial agencies to prohibit deadly weapons pursuant to existing statute section 13-3102, subsection A, paragraph 10.

Allows political subdivisions to require businesses obtaining secondhand firearms by purchase, trade, or consignment to retain the firearm for up to 10 days at their place of business or an approved law enforcement storage location.

Became effective March 30, 2015 upon gubernatorial approval.
