Amends Section 22-102 of the Arizona Revised Statutes regarding justices of the peace.

Requires candidates for justice of the peace to be qualified electors and reside in the precinct they seek to represent for at least one year before the general election.

Exempts appointed justices of the peace who fill vacancies pursuant to Section 16-230 from the one-year residency requirement.

Applies to justices of the peace elected on or after the effective date of the act.
