AZ SB1003

Amends Section 5-602.01 of Arizona Revised Statutes regarding rules and civil penalties administered by the Department of Gaming.

Changes the procedure for depositing civil penalties collected by the department, requiring deposits to be made pursuant to sections 35-146 and 35-147 into the state general fund instead of being transferred to the state treasurer for deposit.

Maintains existing authority for the Department of Gaming to impose civil penalties up to $5,000 per day (maximum $25,000 total) against certificate holders, or up to $500 for violations not constituting grounds for revocation.

Preserves the department's requirement to consider violation seriousness and financial impact when determining penalty amounts.

Retains the Attorney General's authority to file actions in superior court to recover civil penalties at the director's request.
