AZ SB1021

Amends Arizona Revised Statutes section 15-341 to require school district governing boards to prescribe and enforce policies prohibiting pupils from harassing, intimidating, and bullying other pupils based on actual or perceived sexual orientation or gender identity, in addition to existing bullying prohibitions.

Expands the scope of anti-bullying policies to include harassment and bullying based on sexual orientation or gender identity occurring on school grounds, school property, school buses, school-sponsored events, and through electronic technology or electronic communications on school networks.

Maintains existing requirements that anti-bullying policies include procedures for confidential reporting, employee reporting requirements, victim support services, investigation processes, disciplinary procedures, documentation and maintenance of reports, and consequences for false reports.

Applies the expanded anti-bullying provisions to all locations and circumstances already covered under existing bullying prohibition policies, ensuring comprehensive protections for students based on sexual orientation and gender identity.
