AZ SB1186

Authorizes the Arizona Department of Administration to place a memorial dedicated to fallen state Department of Corrections employees within a specified downtown Phoenix area bounded by 17th Avenue, Jefferson Street, 16th Avenue, and Madison Street.

Requires the memorial establishment to follow procedures outlined in Arizona Revised Statutes section 41-1363, subsection B.

Prohibits use of public monies for memorial costs; proponents are solely responsible for fund-raising and all contracts for artistic design and construction.

State is prohibited from facilitating fund-raising or establishing a state fund to collect memorial donations.

Section automatically repeals on September 30, 2018.
