Establishes a joint select study committee on rural area fire district funding and taxation consisting of six legislators (three from each chamber), a county representative, a city/town representative, and a county representative appointed by the governor.

Committee must review fire safety service levels provided by fire districts and departments in rural areas and examine taxation levels across counties, including unincorporated areas.

Committee is required to submit a report with findings and recommendations to the president of the senate, speaker of the house, and governor by December 15, 2015, with a copy to the secretary of state.

The committee and this statute are automatically repealed on December 31, 2015.
