Amends Arizona Revised Statutes section 12-821.01 to add a new exception that exempts claims alleging medical malpractice resulting in death of a person being treated for mental health illness from the standard 180-day claim filing deadline against public entities and employees.

Maintains existing requirements that claimants must file claims within 180 days after a cause of action accrues, with claims containing specific facts about liability and a specific settlement amount.

Preserves existing exceptions for claims subject to binding or nonbinding dispute resolution processes, administrative claims procedures, and claims by minors or persons with disabilities.

Creates an exemption from the notice-of-claim requirements for just compensation claims under chapter 8, article 2.1 and for the new medical malpractice claims related to mental health treatment deaths.
