Former Arizona Senator Jones Osborn passed away on November 6, 2014 at age 93.

Osborn served 20 years in the Arizona Legislature beginning in 1971, creating the Residential Users' Consumer Office (RUCO), the Adult Intensive Probation Program, the "Sunset Law" for periodic state agency audits, and the Arizona Department of Juvenile Corrections.

He served as chairman of the Western Interstate Commission for Higher Education (WICHE) in 1990 and was appointed to the Arizona Judicial Commission for 16 years by Chief Justice Stanley Feldman.

Osborn was a World War II Army officer who earned the rank of captain with a Combat Infantry Badge and two Bronze Stars, and previously worked as editor of The Yuma Daily Sun newspaper.

The Legislature expresses its sincere regret at Osborn's passing and extends deepest sympathies to his surviving wife, four children, stepson, and six grandchildren.
