AZ HB2096

Requires the Citizens Clean Elections Commission to conduct random audits after each general election of corporations, limited liability companies, and labor organizations that register and make independent expenditures.

Audits shall review notifications, documentation, and financial records to determine compliance with section 16-914.02, subsection K regarding independent expenditure reporting.

Allows the commission to hire an independent accounting firm to conduct audits, with selection of entities determined by random lot at a commission meeting.

Audits are confidential unless a violation is found, in which case the commission notifies the appropriate filing officer.

Requires a three-fourths vote in both houses of the legislature for enactment pursuant to Arizona Constitution article IV, part 1, section 1.
