Allows school districts and charter schools to request that the state fire marshal authorize a city, town, county, or fire district to impose their local fire code on school buildings through an intergovernmental agreement instead of requiring compliance with the state fire code.

Permits school districts and charter schools to choose whether plan review, permitting, inspections, and regularly scheduled fire safety inspections are completed by either the state fire marshal or the local jurisdiction, with the local jurisdiction required to inform schools of any associated fees.

Exempts buildings and properties owned by the Arizona Board of Regents or universities under its jurisdiction from local fire codes unless an intergovernmental agreement exists between the university and the local jurisdiction.

Removes the phrase "and public schools" from provisions stating that certain cities with populations over 100,000 do not have authority that supersedes the state fire safety committee's established fire code in state or county owned buildings.

Makes technical corrections to language regarding fire code enforcement, fire prevention training, and evidence impoundment procedures in fire investigations.
