Amends Arizona Revised Statutes Section 8-342 regarding commitment of children to the Department of Juvenile Corrections.

Prohibits commitment of children adjudicated as only dependent or incorrigible to the Department of Juvenile Corrections.

Maintains existing prohibitions on commitment of children under age 14, and those adjudicated delinquent for non-felony offenses unless previously adjudicated for a felony or determined to be seriously mentally ill.

Requires medical examination before commitment to the Department of Juvenile Corrections and prohibits commitment if contagious or infectious disease is present until the child is medically cleared.
