HB 2370 Summary

• Prohibits Arizona and its political subdivisions from using state personnel or financial resources to enforce, administer, or cooperate with any federal action placing refugees, unaccompanied alien children, or non-citizens in the state unless the individual undergoes thorough criminal history, terrorism, and health background checks approved by Arizona.

• Requires the United States government to fully reimburse Arizona and its political subdivisions for all ongoing costs incurred from placement of refugees and non-citizens in the state.

• Directs the Arizona Attorney General to annually notify the Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives, the U.S. Senate Majority Leader, and the Department of Justice of this section's requirements.

• Establishes legislative findings asserting that the federal government has failed to secure borders, placed non-citizens in Arizona without state knowledge or permission, failed to fully reimburse state costs for education and public assistance, and inadequately vetted individuals for health and criminal backgrounds.
