HB 2504 - Physical Therapy Licensure Compact

• Enacts the Physical Therapy Licensure Compact into Arizona law, allowing licensed physical therapists and assistants from member states to practice in Arizona under a "compact privilege" without obtaining a separate state license.

• Establishes the Physical Therapy Compact Commission as an interstate administrative body to oversee interstate practice, share licensure and disciplinary information between member states, and adopt uniform rules governing the compact.

• Requires member states participating in the compact to implement criminal background checks, use a recognized national examination, maintain continuing competence requirements, and report adverse actions to the commission's data system.

• Grants compact privileges to licensees who hold valid unencumbered licenses in their home state, have no adverse actions within two years, meet any jurisprudence requirements, and pay applicable fees; allows remote states to enforce their practice standards and remove privileges as needed.

• Prohibits employers from requiring physical therapists to obtain licensure through the compact as a condition of employment and requires the Arizona Board of Physical Therapy to post notice of commission actions on its website within 30 days.
