HB2696 - Capital Outlay Appropriations Summary

• Appropriates $27,000,000 to the Department of Administration for building renewal and major maintenance, including $4,200,000 for renovating the Department of Health Services building at 1740 West Adams and $120,000 to repair the 1938 Works Progress Administration civic building on the state fair grounds.

• Allocates $5,464,300 from the Department of Corrections Building Renewal Fund for correctional facility maintenance and repairs.

• Appropriates $10,000,000 from the state general fund for construction of a veterans' home facility in Flagstaff, contingent on receiving an irrevocable federal commitment to fund at least 65 percent of total costs.

• Appropriates $30,000,000 for Interstate 10 widening projects from Earley Road to Interstate 8 and the I-10/State Route 87 interchange, to be combined with federal FAST grant funding.

• Appropriates $25,000,000 for accelerating State Route 189 construction from the Mariposa port of entry to Interstate 19, plus additional capital funding for highway construction ($270,615,000) and airport development ($19,079,900).
