Proclaims February 2 through February 8, 2016 as Chicano History Week in Arizona, commemorating the signing of the Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo on February 2, 1848.

Recognizes that people of Mexican origin and descent have contributed significantly to Arizona's and the nation's economy, development, and growth across arts, business, media, agriculture, education, and other sectors.

Acknowledges historical injustices faced by early Mexican-Americans, including loss of land and property, suppression of language and culture, and denial of employment, education, and political representation opportunities despite treaty guarantees of citizenship rights.

Honors the Chicano generation and the Chicano Movement of the 1960s-1970s as representing a unique cultural confluence combining multiple historical traditions and asserting cultural identity against assimilationist pressures.

Extends recognition and tribute to Mexican-Americans and their descendants whose citizenship status changed from Mexican to American under the Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo.
