Recognizes the historical truth of the Armenian genocide, which occurred from 1915-1920 and resulted in the forced deportation and massacre of more than 1.5 million Armenians, Assyrians and Greeks by the Ottoman Empire.

Documents that the genocide involved murder, forced labor, deportation, burning of churches and schools, rape, torture and forced conversion to eradicate minority populations from their homelands.

Notes that the actions were documented by humanitarian organizations, the British government, U.S. Ambassador Henry Morgenthau and the U.S. Department of State, with the Allied governments officially rebuking the Ottoman government as early as May 24, 1915.

States that the Armenian genocide has been recognized as genocide by the European Parliament, 29 countries and 43 of the 50 U.S. states.

Calls for the House of Representatives to support official adoption of a similar position recognizing the Armenian genocide by the United States Department of State.
