AZ SB1007

Amends Arizona law to implement automatic voter registration for individuals applying for or renewing driver licenses, effective January 1, 2017, unless applicants affirmatively opt out.

Requires the Department of Transportation and Secretary of State to adopt rules implementing automatic voter registration and ensuring driver license and voter registration applications are substantially similar in form.

Mandates that applicants receive a statement detailing voting eligibility requirements, penalties for false registration, and confidentiality protections before registration occurs.

Requires the Department of Transportation to transfer completed voter registration information to county recorders within five days of application receipt.
