AZ SB1196

Amends Arizona Revised Statutes section 41-1728 to expand the silver alert notification system to include missing persons with Alzheimer's disease or dementia, in addition to those 65 years of age or older.

Allows law enforcement agencies to request activation of the silver alert system for missing persons with Alzheimer's disease or dementia if they meet all required conditions, including using available local resources and determining the person is in danger.

Requires the department to provide silver alert information to any other entity in Arizona that issues similar notifications to ensure coordinated public dissemination.

Maintains existing requirements that missing persons must be in unexplained or suspicious circumstances and that information disseminated could assist in their safe recovery.

Became effective May 11, 2016.
