• Maintains existing exemptions allowing school district governing board members to purchase supplies and materials under specific conditions, and permitting other political subdivisions to purchase limited supplies (up to $300 per transaction, $1,000 annually) without competitive bidding.

• Preserves existing prohibition on school districts and community college districts from employing governing board members or their spouses.
